School Day
Our school and nursery day begins at 8.45am. The school doors open at 8.35am and children can be dropped off and come into school and into class from this time, to enable a prompt start to sessions. For reasons of safety, children should not arrive, or be left unaccompanied on the school site, before this time. Attendance registers are taken at 8:45am and 1pm promptly in every class. Children arriving at school after this time will be marked as late.
Morning Break 10.30-10.45am
Children play outside unless weather conditions are particularly bad. They are supervised at all times.
Lunch 12.00-1.00pm
Children may bring sandwiches or have a school lunch. Games and activities are organised for children outdoors. We believe it is important that children get plenty of fresh air and exercise.
Afternoon Break 2.00 – 2.15pm (Reception and Key Stage 1)
The school day ends at 3.15pm and the afternoon nursery session at 3:30pm. Each teacher dismisses their class to parents/carers from the main school gates at the end of the day.
A typical school week amounts to 32.5 hours.
In the interest of safety, please take care when arriving, parking and leaving school. Please be aware that children are around when manoeuvring and have due consideration for our neighbours. We do encourage local children to walk to school rather than use cars, or to share wherever possible. There is a cycle rack available at the front of school for children who wish to travel to school by bicycle/scooter. Please avoid parking for long periods outside school and causing obstructions to driveways. Additional parking is available at the Pavilion (opposite the village hall).
